This warning sign can be installed on your own private property or with the permission of the land owner and has been designed so that it is within the legal size limit to not need planning permission.
These signs are made from 3mm thick aluminium composite sign board. With 4.5mm pre-cut holes in each corner. This is the same material used to make road signs. It is light weight, weather-proof and will not rust. The actual image is cut from gloss laminate outdoor vinyl.

Care and maintenance
Once installed you should not have to do anything further to the sign. If the sign is under trees, or in a damp location, green algae can form on the sign. This can simply be washed off with warm soapy water. Road grime and mud can be removed in the same way.
Legal requirements
These signs are well within the legal size limit for NOT requiring Planning Permission. Generally, you can install signs up to 600mm by 450mm without Planning Permission. This is roughly the size of a standard Real Estate sign. Your sign should be installed on your own private property, or property you have obtained permission to use. Do not attach signs to road signs, telephone poles or any structure that is not yours. You can place the sign on a grass verge that belongs to you providing it is securely attached to a wooden post that is well fixed and will not blow away. It must not obstruct or distract motorist or cause any form of visual or physical obstruction to motorists. If you wish to install a sign on a farm fence or woodland, you must to seek the landowner’s permission. Most landowners are quite obliging when it comes to helping hedgehogs. If you are unclear in any way about local laws, speak to your local council first, they are usually very helpful.
